Last updated: 7 May 2026
This page explains the terms, premium access rules, AI limitations, OpenAI API processing, and privacy details that apply when you use LifeNest. It should be read together with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Important LifeNest points
- LifeNest is a premium AI chatbot feature provided by Slade Applications inside Leaving The Nest.
- LifeNest uses the OpenAI API, so prompts, conversation context, and technical request data may be sent to OpenAI to generate responses.
- Do not use LifeNest if you do not agree to this AI processing, OpenAI API processing, premium access model, or data handling.
- AI output can be wrong and must not replace emergency help, safeguarding support, professional advice, or your own judgement.
1. What LifeNest is
LifeNest is the premium AI-assisted chatbot feature inside Leaving The Nest. It is designed to help users organise thoughts, ask practical questions, plan everyday routines, understand budgeting ideas, prepare documents, think through study or life-admin tasks, and find clearer next steps.
LifeNest is provided by Slade Applications, the developer and publisher of Leaving The Nest. References to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Slade Applications and the people who build, publish, operate, and support the app.
LifeNest uses artificial intelligence technology provided through the OpenAI API. This means prompts, messages, conversation context, and related technical data may be sent to OpenAI so that the chatbot response can be generated and returned to you.
2. Agreement to these LifeNest terms
These LifeNest AI Terms and Privacy Details apply in addition to the main Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for Leaving The Nest.
By using LifeNest, starting a LifeNest conversation, sending a message to the chatbot, or purchasing access to LifeNest, you agree to these terms and to the way LifeNest data is handled as described on this page.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not want your prompts or chatbot data processed in this way, do not want OpenAI API processing to be used, or do not want to use an AI chatbot, you must not use LifeNest. You can still use other available Leaving The Nest features that do not require LifeNest, subject to the main app terms.
3. Premium feature status and payments
LifeNest is a premium feature and may require payment, an active subscription, an in-app purchase, a valid entitlement, or another approved access method before it can be used.
Prices, billing periods, renewal terms, trial terms, cancellation options, and refund availability may depend on the store, payment provider, promotional offer, or subscription flow used at the time of purchase.
Purchases made through Google Play are also governed by Google Play billing, cancellation, and refund rules. Cancelling a subscription normally stops future renewals, but it may not automatically refund previous payments or immediately remove access for a paid period unless the payment provider or applicable law requires it.
4. Information processed when you use LifeNest
LifeNest may process your account identifier, subscription or entitlement status, prompts, chatbot messages, generated responses, conversation history, timestamps, app or device metadata, safety signals, error logs, and support information linked to chatbot use.
If you choose to include personal information in a prompt, that information may be processed as part of the chatbot conversation. This may include information about money, education, housing, work, relationships, wellbeing, routines, documents, location, support needs, or other details you type into LifeNest.
You control what you type into LifeNest. You should not submit passwords, payment card numbers, bank login details, one-time codes, highly sensitive documents, confidential third-party information, or information you are not authorised to share.
5. How LifeNest data is used by Slade Applications
We use LifeNest data to provide chatbot responses, maintain your account access, verify premium entitlement, display or restore conversation history where available, troubleshoot bugs, improve safety, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, enforce terms, keep records required for legal or accounting reasons, and maintain the service.
We may review limited chatbot-related records where necessary for support, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, debugging, quality checks, or investigating a reported issue. We do not want users to place unnecessary sensitive information into LifeNest.
We may use aggregated, anonymised, or de-identified information to understand feature performance, reliability, safety issues, and general usage trends. This information should not reasonably identify you.
6. How OpenAI API processing is used
LifeNest sends relevant prompts, conversation context, and technical request data to OpenAI through the OpenAI API so the AI model can generate a response.
OpenAI may process and temporarily retain API data in accordance with OpenAI API platform terms, privacy commitments, security measures, and abuse-monitoring requirements. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train or improve OpenAI models unless the API customer explicitly opts in.
Slade Applications does not knowingly opt in to allow LifeNest API prompts and responses to be used to train OpenAI models. If this position changes, we will update this page and the relevant privacy information before applying the change where required.
7. AI output accuracy and user responsibility
LifeNest responses are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, unsuitable, offensive, confusing, or unsafe for your specific circumstances. AI can produce confident-sounding answers that are wrong.
You are responsible for checking LifeNest responses before relying on them. You should use LifeNest as a planning and reflection tool, not as a final source of truth.
Slade Applications, as the developer and publisher of Leaving The Nest, is not responsible for decisions, actions, losses, harm, or consequences that arise from relying on chatbot output except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded. LifeNest output is generated using the OpenAI API and is not individually written, verified, or approved by Slade Applications before you see it.
8. No professional advice
LifeNest does not provide professional advice. It must not be treated as financial advice, legal advice, medical advice, mental-health advice, counselling, safeguarding advice, immigration advice, education advice, benefits advice, tax advice, housing advice, employment advice, or any other regulated or professional service.
Do not use LifeNest to make high-impact decisions about health, safety, money, legal rights, housing, education, employment, immigration, benefits, safeguarding, or care without suitable human review and professional support.
Where a decision matters, contact a qualified professional, a trusted support organisation, a school or college adviser, local authority support, a regulated adviser, a medical professional, emergency services, or another appropriate human support route.
9. Emergencies, crisis, and safeguarding
LifeNest is not an emergency service, crisis line, safeguarding team, counselling service, or monitored reporting channel. It cannot guarantee immediate help and should not be used where someone may be in immediate danger.
If you or someone else may be at risk of immediate harm, contact emergency services, local crisis support, police, medical services, a trusted adult, local authority safeguarding, or another appropriate urgent support service.
If we become aware of information suggesting serious harm, abuse, exploitation, self-harm, danger to another person, unlawful activity, or a safeguarding issue, we may take reasonable action permitted or required by law, including restricting access, preserving records, or contacting appropriate services.
10. Rules for using LifeNest
You must use LifeNest lawfully, responsibly, and respectfully. You must not use LifeNest to create, request, encourage, or facilitate illegal, abusive, exploitative, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, self-harm, harassment, fraud, malware, weapons, evasion, impersonation, or privacy-invasive content.
You must not use LifeNest to generate professional advice that requires a licence, make automated high-impact decisions about people, exploit minors or vulnerable people, collect private information about others without permission, or bypass safety restrictions.
We may block prompts, limit responses, suspend LifeNest access, remove premium access, or close accounts where we reasonably believe LifeNest has been misused, safety rules have been breached, payment access is invalid, or continued access creates risk.
11. Children and younger users
LifeNest may be used by young people preparing for independent living only where they are legally allowed to use the app and have any required parent, guardian, carer, school, or responsible-adult permission.
LifeNest is not a substitute for adult supervision, safeguarding, pastoral care, professional advice, or trusted human support. Adults supporting younger users should help decide whether LifeNest is appropriate and should encourage safe, age-appropriate use.
Users must not use LifeNest to generate sexual, exploitative, harmful, manipulative, unsafe, or age-inappropriate content involving minors.
12. Conversation history and retention
LifeNest conversations may be stored so that the feature works, previous conversations can be displayed where supported, support issues can be investigated, safety can be maintained, and legal or business records can be kept where necessary.
We keep LifeNest data only for as long as reasonably needed for service delivery, security, support, legal compliance, accounting, dispute handling, backup management, abuse prevention, and legitimate business purposes.
Deleting your account may delete or anonymise LifeNest records linked to your account, but some records may remain where retention is required or permitted for security, legal compliance, payment records, provider logs, backup integrity, dispute handling, or abuse prevention.
13. Sharing and third parties
LifeNest data may be shared with trusted providers where needed to operate the feature, including OpenAI for AI generation, hosting providers, database providers, authentication providers, payment or app-store providers, analytics providers, crash-reporting tools, communication providers, and professional advisers where necessary.
Third-party providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, contractual protections, provider security measures, and applicable legal transfer mechanisms.
We do not sell LifeNest conversation content. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to enforce terms, to investigate misuse, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer where user rights remain protected.
14. Your choices and rights
You can choose not to use LifeNest. If you disagree with AI processing, OpenAI API processing, premium terms, data handling, or these LifeNest terms, your choice is not to start or continue using LifeNest.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent where consent applies. These rights may be limited where retention is required for legal, security, payment, or dispute reasons.
You can contact us through the Contact page for account help, privacy questions, deletion requests, or LifeNest-related concerns.
15. Changes to LifeNest
We may update, limit, suspend, replace, or remove LifeNest features, models, prompts, safety systems, providers, premium access rules, and these terms where needed to improve the product, control cost, maintain security, comply with law, meet provider requirements, or keep the feature sustainable.
If we make material changes to LifeNest terms or privacy handling, we will update this page and take reasonable steps to notify users where practical. Continuing to use LifeNest after changes take effect means you accept the updated LifeNest terms.
